1956 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione by Bacchelli & Villa takes The Peninsula Classics Best of the Best Award
The Peninsula Classics Best of the Best Award goes to 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione restored by Bacchelli & Villa.
Arguably one of the most beautiful sports and racing cars ever built, this particular example was the second 250 GT TDF built and was equipped with 3.0-liter V-12 which originally produced about 240 hp.
The TDF designation was imparted after its racing counterpart, a Pininfarina-designed 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione, claimed victory in the 1956 Tour de France race. This chassis started its racing career at the Mille Miglia, just hours after its first took delivery in April 1956, and participated in road races and hill climbs across Europe.
The Ferrari then made its way into the United States-based collection of Brian Ross, its current owner. Under his care, the 250 GT TDF underwent a meticulous restoration here at Bacchelli & Villa.
This Ferrari Classiche Certified example previously won Best of Show at the 2021 Concorso d'Eleganza Villad'Este and the Platinum Award at the 2022 Cavallino Classic.
