A Closer Look Into The 812 Superfast
Interior
The steering wheel and its commands, along with the satellite pods that flank it makes for an extreme cockpit in which all the various elements are angled towards the all-important driver. The ultra-taut surfaces are deliberately layered and broken up to create voids resulting in the appearance that the main elements are floating. The overall effect is of both thoroughbred racing eagerness and lean elegance that never feels overstated.Exterior
Power and aggression are embodied by the exterior of the New 812 Superfast. Designed by the Ferrari Styling Center, the 812 Superfast redefines the formal language for the front-engine V12 Ferrari proportions without altering either its exterior dimensions or interior space and comfort. It features a fastback sleekness with an aggressive rear spoiler that guarantees downforce. Muscular wheel arches and sharply slanted crease lines along the flanks imbue the power and aggression. Four round tail-lights inspired by Ferrari tradition emphasize a design created around horizontal lines and gives the 812 superfast a broad, imposing stance, visually lowering both the spoiler and the very compact cabin without sacrificing space.Powertrain
With a power output of 800 cv at 8,500 rpm and 718 Nm of torque @ 7,000 rpm, the new V12 engine that propels the 812 Superfast has accomplished unprecedented achievement for a naturally-aspirated Ferrari production engine. By increasing the displacement from 6.2 to 6.5 liters and focusing on optimizing the engine's intake system and combustion efficiency, Ferrari engineers were able to draw the maximum amount of air into the engine thus resulting in these astonishing power figures. A significant 80% of the maximum torque is available at just 3,500 rpm, improving both flexibility and pick-up at low revs. While the overall power curve rises constantly to the 8,500 rpm maximum giving the occupants the feeling of limitless power and acceleration.
