A Closer Look Into The 488 Pista
Interior
On the interior, simplicity was the driving design factor. The cockpit has been paired down – now featuring door handle pulls, aluminum floors and a glove compartment delete – to create a functionally sporty feel, which is further accentuated with technical materials like carbon fiber and alcantara.Exterior
Exterior design was guided predominantly by aerodynamic demands; the result was a 20% increase in areo efficiency over the 488 GTB. The most notable features include the “S” duct that has been incorporated into the bonnet to create additional downforce but also virtually shortens the nose of the car. On the opposite end, additional downforce is provided by the larger, fixed Dolphin spoiler that appears to be suspended over the rear deck lid. Underneath the iconic racing paint scheme lays carbon fiber engine cover, front bumper and rear bumper which reduce weight that is far from the center of gravity, thus helping improve agility.Powertrain
To create the most powerful Ferrari V8 engine ever, components from the 488 Challenge and Scuderia Ferrari’s F1 suppliers were incorporated into the already potent twin-turbo V8. The high tech peripherals, engine internals, and exhaust manifold have resulted in lightened rotating mass, increase responsiveness and 50bhp increase over the 488 GTB
